Join us for Member Day on Thursday 8th of August, from 11am-2pm, at the Wellspring Settlement in Barton Hill.

We are inviting all Changes Bristol members to join us to gather together with volunteers and staff to spend some time together. There will be lunch provided, activities and interactive feedback. Please take this chance to also tell us your experience of Changes and bring your ideas for things we can improve and expand on.

If you plan to attend, please email service@changesbristol.org.uk or sign up on Eventbrite

I will outline a precise agenda so that you can know what to expect but please note that there is no obligation to attend the entire day, you may drop in and out as you please.

The purpose of this day is to a) improve connections across the Changes community and bring everyone together, b) get feedback on things we can do better, and c) hear about the things that we do well so that we can tell potential funders how vital our services are! We would love to have you all join us and take part however you can.

The event will be held at the Terrace Room in the Wellspring Settlement, 43 Ducie Rd, Barton Hill, Bristol BS5 0AX. Upon arrival at the Settlement, we’ll have staff members in the reception area between 11-11.30am to greet you and direct you to the Terrace room.

Here is the plan for the day:

11:00am-11:30am: Arrival, settling in and mingling. Teas, coffees and biscuits will be available. You can sign up for 1-1 interviews with a Changes staff member to talk more about your experience as a member.

11.30am-11.35am: A quick hello and introduction from Freya (Deputy Services Manager)

11.35am-12.10pm: Discussion tables – we’ll ask you to sit in small groups and answer a series of discussion questions, spending 5-10 minutes on each. Here are the planned questions:

1) What do you want most from your Changes membership? (i.e. How would you like to be involved in the charity? What would you like to see from your membership going forward?)

2) What does Changes do well? And what should it continue doing?

3) From your attendance, how has Changes improved your wellbeing (if it has)? Have there been improvements of feelings of isolation, loneliness, improved connections i.e. friendships?

4) What could Changes do better? Any ideas/suggestions?

Each table will be invited to feed back to the room after each discussion, but there is no obligation. Each table will be asked to make notes, and these will be available on a separate table for anyone to add to after the discussions.

12.10pm-1pm: This section will be more relaxed and free-flowing. You may come and go, have more teas/coffees/biscuits, take part in the activities, and attend a 10-minute interview about your experience as a Changes member.

Each table will have its own activity:

1) There will be a paper tree which we’ll ask you to add a ‘leaf’ to, answering ‘What helps you grow?’

2) Another will have paper tablecloths to more creatively express yourself and your experience of Changes

3) There will be a table with a more informal discussion setting

4) Our very own Sayam will have a table with an art activity running

5) A table with the discussion questions so you can add something on if you have an idea

We will also have QR codes dotted around where you can scan them to provide anonymous feedback about the service.

Interviews will be running in a separate room, the Box Office room, in the Wellspring Settlement. The sign-up sheet will have 10-minute slots running from 12.10pm-1pm.

At 12.30pm, Eat a Pitta will arrive to start setting up our delicious lunch!

1pm: Lunchtime! Eat a Pitta are providing us with a delicious buffet lunch. You’ll be welcome to stick around, mingle, and continue with activities if you like, until we close up at around 2pm.

Can’t wait to see you all there!

Accessibility: If you are a wheelchair user, please let us know so that we can greet you outside of the building. There are steps leading to the reception area but there is a lift which takes you straight to the Terrace Room.

If there is anything at all that would make this event more accessible to you, please let us know, and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate it.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Please note, the agenda is subject to slight change but we are hoping to stick to this plan.

There will be no groups running during the day so that volunteers and staff could all attend if they want to.
