We are seeking a Treasurer to join our board of trustees and play an active part in the development of our charity!

The role of the Treasurer is pivotal to the strategic development of the charity and is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the organisation, alongside the CEO, and reporting to the board of trustees on financial matters.

Who are looking for someone who has:
Knowledge of managing budgets or book-keeping
Previous experience of streamlining financial procedures and processes
Skills to analyse proposals and critique financial consequences
Skills & knowledge to interpret annual financial accounts
Ability to assist the CEO with cashflow/budget forecasting
A commitment to the values of Changes Bristol and in interest in Mental Health
An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
An ability to work effectively as a member of a team
A commitment to the Trustee Protocol which includes Nolan’s seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.

Additionally, whilst not necessary, previous experience of charity financial management is desirable.

The board currently meets 12 times a year on the second Wednesday of the month in the evening between 6.15-8.15pm.

While there is no fixed time commitment, an initial commitment of about 2-3 days a month may be assumed. Successful applicants would be asked to commit to a three-year term as a trustee to ensure continuity, though of course this is not binding.

Some home working is possible, though it would be preferable for the majority of meetings to be attended in person.
