Our Board of Trustees

Meet our Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is essential to the governance of the organisation and provides an important function for the smooth running of the charity.  The Trustees are all volunteers who form the governing body of the charity and are responsible for providing the strategic direction and look to safeguard the charity’s aims.

Pete Raimes Chair of Trustees
Pete has a background in working in mental health services in the NHS as both a clinician and as a manager.  He was a director of mental health services in both London and Milton Keynes before retiring in 2016. Since retiring he has worked with refugees and asylum seekers in London and in Bristol. He is also involved in a rewilding project in Norfolk.

He joined the Changes board as Chair in September 2022.
Sally Kent (Treasurer) Accountant

Sally works for a chartered accountancy firm and joined Changes in 2016 as their treasurer.  When not working, she enjoys films, books, theatre and hanging out with her dogs.

Dr Liz Frost
Dr Phill Charles
Meg Waters - Secretary
I am excited to be a part of the Board of Trustees and to be able to directly support a cause that’s so close to my heart. Having previously been a volunteer for Changes, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the positive impact support groups can have on the individual and the community and love that the Board allows me to get involved with the strategic goals of the charity and gain insight into the Mental Health sector.

Outside of the Board, I like to spend my time reading and trying new restaurants. When I have the time, I also enjoy sewing, though this comes with mixed results!
Dr Miriam Khan

I am a GP working in Inner City Bristol.  I have worked within the voluntary sector with various statutory and grass root organisations across Bristol to try and improve access to healthcare including mental health services particularly for marginalised populations.

Katendi Heald

After attending Changes groups as a user, I started volunteering as a Trustee in 2024. My day job is as an Administrator and Accounts Assistant in a sustainability business. However, with a background as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, working with young people, it’s important to me to be involved again in the mental health sector. Free time is all about dogs, exploring and food.

Tariq White

It’s been an absolutely great experience and something I am so pleased that I did. All of the trustees are made to feel very valued and there is genuine appreciation for the time that we give up.”

Rachel Beale, Former Chair of Trustees
