Meet our Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is essential to the governance of the organisation and provides an important function for the smooth running of the charity. The Trustees are all volunteers who form the governing body of the charity and are responsible for providing the strategic direction and look to safeguard the charity’s aims.

Pete Raimes - Chair of Trustees

Sally Gregson - Treasurer
Sally works for a chartered accountancy firm and joined Changes in 2016 as their treasurer. When not working, she enjoys films, books, theatre and hanging out with her dogs.

Dr Liz Frost – Vice-Chair

Meg Waters - Secretary

Clare Derrett
I have a background of working as a Probation Officer and within Higher Education at the University of Bristol in the Wellbeing Service. I have seen first hand how important getting non-judgemental guidance, support and a listening ear is to helping people improve motivation and recover from mental distress.
Becoming a Trustee for Changes Bristol is my first experience on a Board and I have been warmly welcomed. I love the fact Changes aims to reduce as many barriers as possible for people to get the support they need and I was particularly drawn to the values of the organisation of empowerment, respect and inclusion. I am excited to bring my experience and knowledge to the board to be part of ensuring that offer and culture continues and grows.
Outside of work I love running and yoga to keep me mentally and physically fit and spending time with my young family.

Dr Miriam Khan
I am a General Practitioner working in Inner City Bristol and the current Clinical Lead for Health Inequalities for my Primary Care Network. I have completed a health inequalities fellowship project focused on improving mental health outcomes amongst people from ethnic minority backgrounds in primary care. I have previously worked within the voluntary sector with various statutory and grass root organisations across Bristol to try and improve access to healthcare (including mental health services) for marginalised populations. I joined Changes Bristol In March 2024 as a trustee as the values that underpin my work strongly align with those of Changes, especially de-stigmatising mental health and ensuring mental health services are accessible to everyone.

Katendi Heald
After attending Changes groups as a user, I started volunteering as a Trustee in 2024. My day job is as an Administrator and Accounts Assistant in a sustainability business. However, with a background as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, working with young people, it’s important to me to be involved again in the mental health sector. Free time is all about dogs, exploring and food.

Tariq White
Tariq worked in the NHS as a nurse and senior manager until retiring in June 2024. Much of his career was spent within cancer services but he also worked on reducing health inequalities in vulnerable communities. He joined the Board of CHANGES in September 2024.
Tariq enjoys cycling, walking and being outside. He has volunteered for Life Cycle for a number of years where he cycles tandems with the visually impaired.

Jonathan Gibb
As a doctor, I spend my time working with people with mental health problems (as a psychiatrist) and undertaking medical research in Bristol. My research focusses on developing better ways to improve the identification and care of depression in people affected by medical conditions. At the moment, I am working with patient groups and people with lived experience to develop better ways of recognising depression in people affected by cancer. Alongside this, I am passionate about encouraging healthcare professionals to undertake careers in medical research and represent doctors working within this area in national negotiations with NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care, University employers, and at a local mental health trust in Bristol where I previously chaired the negotiating committee. Having witnessed the amazing work that Changes does for people across Bristol, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to join the Board in 2025 to support the growth of this fantastic peer-led organisation.

“
It’s been an absolutely great experience and something I am so pleased that I did. All of the trustees are made to feel very valued and there is genuine appreciation for the time that we give up.”
Rachel Beale, Former Chair of Trustees
