Host an event
Host your own event
There are tonnes of ways you can raise money that feels right for you and your friends or colleagues. Events, however big or small, don’t only raise us vital funds either, they increase awareness of what we do and normalise mental health issues. This in turn helps to reduce stigma for those struggling.
We can make sure you have a Changes banner and other promotional materials as well as a donation box so that people know what you’re raising money for. Please find our Fundraising Guide HERE – this should give you an idea on how to start, some top tips as well as guidelines and inspiration on why Changes Bristol is a worthwhile charity to raise for.
Below are some ideas of what people have done in the past but you may have your own ideas…
Virtual fundraising toolkit
Since the pandemic hit, it has been difficult to host physical events. We’ve correlated a selection of virtual fundraising ideas for you which should offer some inspiration. If you do have something unique in mind, feel free to speak to the team and we’d be happy to help.

Host a mini tournament
Previously people have raised money by hosting 5-aside football tournaments, golf tournaments, chess tournaments and many more. These are great ways to appeal to people’s competitive sides and we can promote them among our networks too.
Hold a Sale!
Think about your strengths and host a sale around it. This could be a food or bake sale, selling favours like ironing or having a spring clean and making some money from your old belongings!
Host something unique to you
You might have an idea for a workshop you’d like to offer people (like a “learn macrame workshop”) or an idea for an event that will appeal to your unique clientele (like Workout Bristol’s “aerobathon”), they are all great opportunities to spread awareness, raise cash and we love them all!
