Steer clear of the beer this January!

Dry January is the UK’s month-long challenge that helps millions reset their livers at the start of the year (and their relationship with booze).

Could a dry month be calling you? You could raise money for Changes Bristol through sponsorship, maybe get some better sleep, save some pennies, lose some weight (not that you need to – you look great).

With many studies evidencing the benefits of temporarily abstaining from drinking alcohol, this is a perfect opportunity to undo some of the damage done to your body (and wallet) throughout the festive season.

It’s also a great way to start honest conversations with friends about the relationship between alcohol and your mental health. How does it affect you? Do you use it as a vice or a confidence booster?

How does it work?

It’s very simple – pledge to let no alcohol pass your lips for the entire month of January.

Create your Justgiving page here and send the link around to your friends and family to ask them to sponsor you. Set a fundraising target for the month to encourage your pals to sponsor you. Make sure you write regular updates to keep your sponsors engaged with your progress. Or if you prefer to stay offline we can post you a paper sponsorship form.

All proceeds will directly help us to provide vital support to people across Bristol who are struggling with their mental health.
