Our Aims

Mission Statement

Changes Bristol will be recognised as an accessible and effective mental health service. Changes aims to promote the recovery and mental wellbeing of those living in the Bristol area.

What we do

Through various mechanisms we aim to provide support to those in mental distress in Greater Bristol:

  • Providing peer support meetings so that people can come and talk about their problems in a non-judgemental, safe and empathetic environment. This service aims to be accessible to all adults (anyone over the age of 18), without any waiting list, without having to be referred by a health professional, and can be used for as long as people would like – there is no time limit.
  • Providing literature and learning materials with our "Steps to Recovery" programme with modules for people to learn at each meeting. These are based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Positive Psychology and Mindfulness.
  • Using the socialisation model we provide a platform where people can come together and develop trust and socialise with others, thus reducing isolation and learning tools to improve wellbeing.
  • We run social events which help people engage in activities in the community.
  • Provide volunteering opportunities to help people in their recovery and increase their self esteem.
  • Signpost people to other organisations that can help with particular problems.
